Jenny

I started Stylish Hip Weddings in 2008 with an incredible team of women.
I am a total interior design nerd, funny meme enthusiast, Type-A organizer and homesteader (3 chickens and one fluffy bunny live in my brooklyn backyard)
A perfect day for me would start with some strong coffee, copy of dwell magazine, yoga or boxing class, talking to my plants, dance party in my PJ's with my 2 rockstar daughters and ending with a cocktail by the fireplace.
My photo career started as a photojournalist working with the New York Times, Newsweek and Glamour magazine. I backpacked around the world when i was in my 20's and have spent alot of time in the Himilayas and India.
"Jenny had the most calming presence. She was so kind and bubbly and made everyone feel at ease which for me is super important on your wedding day"

my living room where we will have a drink and talk weddings

His Holiness the Dalai Lama attended the opening of an exhibition of my photos of Tibet. As we walked thru the exhibition together, he took my hand, looked me in the eye and said that my photos were "very good"

KRISANNE
Krisanne grew up in Ohio and graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Colorado and pursued postgraduate work in visual communications at Ohio University. Since 2006, Krisanne has been working on long-term personal projects about young women and HIV/AIDS in Swaziland and South Africa's post-apartheid youth culture. Her style is heavily influenced by her documentary work and she is inspired by the energy and diversity of NYC. She’s always honored to share in the joy and intimacy of someone’s wedding day and loves forming genuine bonds with her couples. By creating a space where you can be yourself and truly enjoy your day, Krisanne’s patient and effortlessly kind personality will always be a highlight of your wedding day

"I look forward to the interaction with others above all else. The human connection and shared storytelling allow you to capture the quiet nuance and immediacy of the moment"

Eugene Smith Grant in Humanistic Photography, two Getty Images Grants for Editorial Photography, support from the Magnum Foundation Emergency Fund as well as a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship.

Jonica
Jonica (pronounced like Monica with a J) is a key member of the Stylish Hip Weddings team, splitting her time between the studio and the front lines. She grew up in Austin, TX, but got to Brooklyn as soon as she could! She honed her skills at the International Center of Photography and The Fashion Institute of Technology,
The number one thing that couples say about her is how comfortable she made them feel. Jonica is well loved for her ‘good energy.’ Jonica identifies as a feminist, and inclusivity and representation are important to her work.
A direct influence of her queer family, including her two single mothers, a ginger cat, a gay brother, and a trans-parent 🌈 among others. Yes, just like the show.
She is never one to shy away from epic backdrops and likes to experiment with shadows, textures, and movement, but never fear, she always makes sure to add in some classic portraits. When not obsessing over photography, she manages her wanderlust by planning her next trip.

"Her photos captured US authentically, from the fun, whimsy family zoo shots to the romantic, artsy couple compositions. We can't say enough about the quality and brilliance of these photographs. They're just stunning and more perfect than we could have ever wished for!"

mariliana
Mariliana (marie-lee-anna, roll the rrrrrr) was born and raised in Venezuela and is the mastermind behind Stylish and Hip Kids.
Couples instantly feel connected by her warm heart and huge smile. Fluent in Spanish and a former flamenco dancer 💃🏼 her upbeat energy is contagious. When Mariliana isn’t behind the lens, you can find her dancing, teaching yoga, and discovering new neighborhoods in New York City.
If you want to really understand Marilianas artistic genius from an alternate standpoint then take a deep dive into her work with kids. She is on that wavelengh of joy, spontaniety and traditional photojournalism.

“We chose Mariliana because of her exceptional eye for capturing the simple beauty of the moment, her passion for the craft of photography, and the contagious joy she exudes. She captured what we wanted to remember about our wedding"
